What a Zi Wei chart needs

A FluxAstro Zi Wei chart is produced from birth year, month, day, hour, and gender, plus a calendar mode: solar date or a declared lunar date with leap-month flag. The hour is converted to a two-hour branch. 23:00 is late Zi; 00:00 is early Zi.

Location is used when a product flow needs a timezone or civil-time context. The palace math itself follows iztro once the date-time and gender are fixed. Always read the rule snapshot returned with the chart before comparing it to another app.

What FluxAstro needs before it can calculate

A chart in this wiki is a calculated object, not a personality label. FluxAstro uses the iztro engine. The minimum inputs are birth year, month, day, hour, and gender. You may enter a solar date or a declared lunar date. The hour is converted into a two-hour branch; 23:00 is treated as late Zi.

Leap months, year boundary, day boundary, and the transformation table follow the live engine configuration. The generated report returns a snapshot of those settings so another calculator can be compared against the same rules. If the birth hour is missing, stop at the definition layer and do not guess palace positions.

If the hour is unknown

Do not pick a “typical” hour to force a Life Palace. Without a reliable hour the Life Palace cannot be placed, and every other palace moves with it.

Stay on definition pages, or use the tool only to learn the input form. A chart generated from a guessed hour is not evidence.
